What exactly is "five-side heat sublimation" and why does it matter?
Most keycap sets print only the top surface — the legend you see when looking down. Five-side
heat sublimation prints all five exposed faces of each keycap: top, front, back, left and right. The
process works by pressing a specially prepared transfer paper against the keycap surface at high
temperature. The dye sublimates — turns directly from solid to gas — and bonds into the PBT at a
molecular level, becoming part of the material rather than a layer on top of it.
Why it matters: The colour cannot peel, chip, crack or fade with normal use. The gradient reads seamlessly from every angle — when you look at your keys from the side, you see the same deep purple-to-black arc as from above. It is the most durable and visually consistent printing method available for keycaps.
